Position Summary:
This role is more than a Pastry Cook, it is the opportunity to be an integral part of our kitchen. We’re looking for a motivated culinary professional who is organized, detail oriented, passionate, and has a strong desire to learn and build your culinary skillset.
Job Responsibilities:
Work closely with the executive chef and sous chef to develop and execute all dessert offerings.
Operating and managing the pastry section of the kitchen and liaising with the executive and sous chefs to ensure a successful working environment.
Preparing ingredients and handling baking and other kitchen equipment.
Creating pastries, baked goods, and confections, by following a set recipe.
Decorating pastries and desserts to ensure a beautiful and tasteful presentation.
Monitoring the stock of baking ingredients.
Ensuring their section of the kitchen adheres to safety and health regulations.
Qualifications:
Team Player Positive Attitude Passion for food
1-3 years experience in fine dining or casual dining in a high volume kitchen
Strong knowledge of food and cooking techniques including pastry production, portioning, and plating
Culinary degree in pastry strongly preferred
Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period of time with the ability to move and lift at least 40 pounds at a time
Excellent verbal communication and positive interpersonal skills required
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a multicultural & diverse team
Able to acquire a California Food Handler’s License (before or within 2 weeks of hiring)
Bilingual is a plus
