Summary:
Under general supervision, operates press brake to bend, shape or form steel plate to desired radii and performs necessary measurements to insure conformance to specifications.
Job Duties:
- Required to do first piece inspection using provided sample.
- Additional parts inspection required for consistent quality.
- Hoist plat to level of brake die and inserts in proper position.
- Operates brake to bend, shape or form plate to desired radii.
- May be asked to help install dies.
- Uses templates, gauges and rules to measure as required.
- Grease and oil machine as needed.
- Moves material in and out of department as required.
- Uses hoist/crane as needed.
- May be required to operate powered truck and/or hand truck, if licensed.
- Refers unusual problems to supervisor.
- Required to fill out job cards, data sheets and reports accurately and legibly.
- Work station must be kept clean and organized.
- Performs other work as directed commensurate with this or lesser rated labor grades.

- Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret document such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractures and decimals. Ability to compute rates.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Computer Skills: Basic computer skills helpful.
- Certificates, Licenses Registrations: Successful completion of Multiple Duplicate Training for ASME compliance
- Other Skills and Abilities: Blueprint reading.
- Safety Requirements: Protective Footwear Ansi Z41 Class 75, hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields, cloth, leather or Kevlar work gloves.
