Description
The Assistant Transportation Outreach and Policy Strategist will support Planning and Policy staff on a wide variety of communication, planning, policy and public outreach services for our clients. This includes developing and implementing programmatic and project communication strategies and developing resources to make our clients successful.
Assist with developing and implementing communication and outreach plans for public and private sector clients.
Assist with development of policy documents for public sector clients.
Assist with research for an development of funding/grant applications
Assist with materials development, attending and participating in public meetings, logging inquiries on public information hotlines, and data management.
Assist with planning and logistics for project-related engagement activities, such as constituent surveys, in-person/virtual meetings or events.
Assist with developing materials for clients and projects, such as fact sheets, website copy, presentation materials, meeting notifications, etc.
Assist with ensuring brand guidelines are considered in project documents.
Assist with project meetings, preparing documents and providing comprehensive recap and next steps to the internal team.
Assist in compiling reports in the Stakeholder Management System.
Assist in organizing and managing project information files and coordinating the interchange of project outreach information to project managers and clients.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in communications, public or government relations, planning, journalism, marketing or a related field from an accredited program.
This position is located in our Dallas or Austin, TX office.
Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
Prior internship or experience in the transportation sector.
Involvement on campus or in the community.
Basic knowledge of transportation agencies and regulations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite). Adobe Creative Suite experience preferred.
Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Valid driver's license required. In addition, must meet standards to qualify for and maintain the Company's vehicle driving privileges as outlined in the Company's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e. without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.
