The Integration Project Manager will manage, direct, and coordinate field project teams and subcontractors to support the installation of rack or wall mount electronic equipment, make ready cabling, field engineering, commissioning, and start-up solutions for project designs by the Networks, Integration & Automation (NIA) team for client projects throughout the nation.
The Integration Project Manager is expected to establish, maintain, and proactively grow client relationships into repeat business and expanded service offerings. The Integration Project Manager will be responsible for the profit and loss of individual projects, the successful completion of projects within specified dates, and establishing and maintaining professional and satisfactory relationships with project owners, subcontractors, regulatory agencies, and all other project stakeholders. Additionally, the Integration Project Manager will assist in the pursuit of new clients, which includes but is not limited to coordination with client account managers and Burns & McDonnell leadership with direct marketing responsibilities.
Major responsibilities for the Integration Project Manager include:
Prepare proposals, assist in presentations, and participate in contract negotiations.
Leverage existing client relationships, create new client relationships, and focus on repeat work within each client account.
Provide overall management of projects from concept to completion including, but not limited to, siting, environmental, permitting, planning, estimating, engineering, right-of-way acquisition, project controls, bid phase services, procurement, constructability reviews, material management, construction management, and closeout.
Develop and monitor project schedules, manage scope, and control project costs.
Own internal project financials (detailed, accurate project cost forecast and accruals), staffing/resource forecasts, legal coordination, risk management, change management, and human resource issues.
Serve as the primary point of contact with clients regarding efforts such as client coordination, strategic planning, scope management, budget finances, subcontracting, project staffing, environmental compliance, facility support and schedule attainment.
Manage all aspects of project communication.
Develop and implement project policies and procedures, establish project controls systems, and implement the project execution plan.
Direct and coordinate activities of several disciplines on a project of moderate scope or a combination of smaller projects.
Report regularly on progress, cost and schedule metrics, procurement issues, safety or environmental concerns, design questions, potential impacts, and any issues requiring office support.
Work closely with the field integration project team and subcontractors to ensure services are being provided according to design and to client’s satisfaction and that projects are following internal QA/QC guidelines. This includes leading and supporting the field team which executes the following tasks:
Pre-engineering site visits for design scoping per defined checklists.
Oversight of self-perform or subcontractor installation.
Assessment and responsibility of physical quality of installation based on design standards, site-specific designs, and client specifications, including readiness for commissioning.
Physical changes based on design specifications: inside building fiber, copper cabling via existing raceway, install rack- or wall-mount devices, jumper fiber, copper cables to devices / FDPs / patch panels, install/remove device SFPs, punch down low-voltage cables (66/110 blocks, RJ11 for phones, wire-wrap), etc.
Completion of testing checklists of cables, pinouts, fiber, feedline, automation points, etc. using applicable tools to include test fiber optic cables, toggle and test automation points at cutouts, test terminals, trace cables; ringtone if cable without tone, butt set for cable with tone, conduct loopback tests to remote ends, test radio feedline for coax and waveguide on device-based, electronic and application tests.
Powering on of devices using standard panel breaker and rack fuses.
Visual confirmation of successful device turn-up.
Connection to devices and loading base configurations per industry standards.
Troubleshooting on devices, electronics, and applications, making changes as needed to meet client specifications.
Installation changes and modification of device configurations based on troubleshooting.
Commissioning and client application verification according to industry accepted standards.
Quality review and update as necessary for the production of as-built documentation to meet client requirements.
Establish and maintain relationships with client field staff on scope, progress, and return of removed devices.
Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction goals and expectations are met.
Prepare and present technical reports for clients.
Participate in sales and marketing efforts and identify key pursuits.
Provide guidance and instruction to less experienced staff.
Frequent travel to client and project locations will be expected.
Responsible for compliance with company and site safety policies.
Other duties and initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field from an accredited program.
Minimum of 7 years of related experience in design engineering, including 3 or more years of experience managing engineering projects. Completion of a master's degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of experience.
Expert understanding of electrical and communications systems and industry standards.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. This position requires an individual capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to broad areas of assignments.
Must have experience with the production of applicable engineering design and construction documents.
Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered.
Demonstrated success in project management which includes proposal development, contract negotiations, project planning, design and implementation team coordination & communication, budgeting, schedule management, and client coordination.
Must have ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of industry, government, and public contracts on project-related matters.
Proven ability to develop business and establish relationships with clients.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.
Previous field engineering and integration experience preferred.
Professional Registration preferred.
Working knowledge of project management methodologies and tools including the use of Microsoft Project or equivalent.
Ability to handle large volumes of work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated leadership experience.
Must be able to meet the company's driving requirements.
Additional Physical Qualifications:
·Work locations could include office-based or construction jobsites ranging from commercial to heavy industrial environments that include working in adverse climates, and extensive walking, requiring stairs, passenger use of personal hoists, negotiating work areas under construction, climbing permanent and temporary ladders, occasional lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds.
·Must be able to sit, talk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and bend.
·Specific vision abilities required for this job includes: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
