We have the following position at our Santa Clarita division:
Shop Supervisor
The Shop Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and directing the activities of all shop personnel including mechanics and welders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Coordinates and directs the activities of all shop personnel including mechanics and welders
- Responsible for the repair and maintenance of hauling divisions fleet including monthly PM services and DVIR/VCR repairs
- Assigns tasks for the mechanical repair of heavy duty refuse trucks
- Maintains parts inventory and container tracking
- Will conduct monthly safety training and tailgates
- Monitors work flow and ensures tasks are completed in a timely manner and to company standards
- Administers DOT and preventative maintenance programs while ensuring shop personnel is following safe work practices

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Must have a valid California Driver’s License.
- Must have strong organizational skills and ability to motivate large groups
- Must have good decision making, problem solving and communication skills
- Must have familiarity with DOT and OSHA regulations
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
- Must have previous experience managing heavy duty mechanics and thorough knowledge of engine, hydraulic and transmission mechanical repairs
- Previous experience managing a shop, required
- ASE certification for alternative fuels is a plus
PHYSICAL:
- This position requires that the individual walk, sit, stand, touch, stoop, lift and climb or move heavy objects.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions (heat, rain, wind, snow, fog).
