The Breakdown:
Project Managers at Burton play a critical role in bringing our company strategies to life. Product PMs are responsible for organizing and leading the completion of projects in a timely fashion within Burton’s product roadmap utilizing collaboration, clear communication, and effective stakeholder management. PMs must understand the requirements for project success and help drive cross functional teams to completion.
The Product Project Manager will work as a partner to the cross functional Product departments for all types of Burton product including outerwear, accessories, boots, boards, bindings, goggles, and helmets. This position will require a positive, unbiased, and confident collaborative attitude and an ability to adapt processes in an organized and detail oriented mindset.
Leading project meetings by creating agendas, supporting accountability with notes and action items, facilitating decision making, monitoring risks, and addressing project issues are all key components to the role. Must be detail oriented, open to learning, and possess exceptional process management and adaptation skills. Ability to independently work in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing demands required. Must be able to prioritize competing demands while maintaining a keen focus on details and ability to identify and address potential risks to the projects. Must be comfortable working in a cross-functional role with frequent intradepartmental communication.

What You Get to Do:
- Guide project teams from project planning through execution and closing.
- Lead regular project team meetings on a variety of projects to facilitate work completion, decision making, and risk assessment.
- Oversee project milestone planning and KPIs. Ensure project team accountability to project milestones.
- Coordinate with the Product Project Management Team to ensure project timing fits well in the greater project portfolio.
- Anticipate and communicate risks to deliverables and create recommendations for risk mitigation and resolution.
- Support project team with project reporting and tracking.
- Communicate closely with the rest of the Product PM group on project statuses.
- Identify and implement improvements in project processes.
- Support maintenance of visibility and accountability tools for all partners involved in projects you are managing.
- Support operational, project, and strategic initiatives as required.
- Champion change management by regularly reviewing adoption rate of processes and tools and investigating roadblocks to adoption.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Project Management experience required, particularly in schedule creation and management. PMP certification is a plus.
- Experience in Product Development or Product Engineering preferred.
- Experience with Smartsheet, PLM systems, Excel, Microsoft Teams, Basecamp, Powerpoint, and Illustrator preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
- Ability to self-motivate, adapt, prioritize, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to positively influence others and take responsibility for outcomes.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Capability to develop and present succinct status summaries and reports for stakeholders.
- Desire to obtain and implement feedback on a regular basis.
- Ability to manage and distill large amounts of information.
