Accountant

BIS an i3 Verticals Company, is currently looking for a self-driven, passionate, and results-focused Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will demonstrate your expertise in a variety of accounting practices, including but not limited to accounts receivable and payable, reconciling the general ledger, and sales tax. To succeed in this position, you will be highly accurate and efficient, adding value to the accounting team.

Accountant Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and related accounting duties.
• Answer customer and vendor questions or refers them appropriately
• Maintain vendor and customer data as related to finance
• Assist with the month-end closing process including but not limited to, bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and closing entries.
• Determine and record necessary journal entries such as accruals and allocations
• Prepare sales tax, business tax, and other tax filings
• Assist ACH Manager with daily payment processing reconciliation and ACH file processing
• Establish merchant accounts for new clients
• Other tasks/projects as assigned

Accountant Requirements and Qualifications

• Associate's degree in accounting or relevant field required
• Minimum 3-years’ experience as an accountant or bookkeeper
• Exceptional computer skills, including Microsoft Office and databases
• Superior math skills and an analytical mind
• Consistent, accurate, thorough, and detail-oriented
• Exceptional organizational skills and aptitude for numbers
• Outstanding communication skills, written and verbal
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Polished phone and email etiquette
• Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment

Nice to Have

• Prior tax filing experience is a plus
• Experience with accounts payable and receivable is preferred
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred
• SQL/Database Systems/Queries knowledge
