Security Analyst

BIICS, Inc is looking to fill a Security Analyst position. The position is located in Tallahassee, Florida and work is onsite.

The Security Analyst will be responsible for planning, implementing and tuning of the Managed Security Services Provider. This position assists with cyber threat management processes, including monitoring of Security Information and Events Management (SIEM), Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), Endpoint detection, response, and antivirus reporting while acting as a member of the Incident Response (IR) team, and participating in cybersecurity IR and recovery operations. The chosen candidate will be responsible for providing daily support to the information security infrastructure; this includes working with staff and providing tier 3 information security support for customers. The Analyst may also be assigned other deliverables, tasks, and/or projects as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with planning, implementation and tuning of the Department's Managed Security Services Provider
• Assist with planning, implementation and tuning of the Department’s SIEM
• Assist with planning, implementation and tuning of the Department’s Vulnerability management
• Support NextGen Firewall security tools and maintain site block list
• Support and maintain Endpoint detection and response and antivirus software functionality on servers and client systems
• Monitor IDP/IPS for information security threats and advise/participate in response actions
• Act as a member of the Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT)
• Support administration of secure messaging and second factor authentication capabilities
• Develop and maintain technical specifications, standards, procedures, and systems documentation
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve antivirus software issues with minimal impact on users
• Research and recommend appropriate technical solutions to meet functional requirements
• Provide recommendations for possible process improvements within the information security team

Potential candidate must possess the following:

• Five (5) years of combined IT and security work experience with a broad range of exposure to systems analysis, applications development, database design and administration
• Three (3) years of experience with information security
• Knowledge of security issues, techniques and implications across all existing computer platforms
• Ability to work independently or as a team member on multiple IT security projects, occasionally as a project leader
• Ability to work on large, complex security issues or projects that require increased skill in multiple IT functional areas
• Experience coaching more junior staff

Pay: $50.43 - $72.29 per hour
