The Maintenance Specialist is responsible for general maintenance, cleanliness and sanitation of the building, equipment and property at the Armco Park. Incumbent will float to other BCFYMCA facilities as needed for project completion and general maintenance support. The incumbent will provide exemplary service to members and prospective members, demonstrating good human relation skills and a willingness to help maintain building and grounds.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum age of 21
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Three years or more of general maintenance experience required
- Experience in carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, general building systems
- Valid Driver’s License
- CPR/First Aid/AED Certification within 120 days of hire
- Pesticide Certification within 120 days of hire
- CPO Certification, preferred
- HVAC Certification, preferred
- Creative problem solving skills
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Responsible for the Armco Park maintenance during regular operating season.
2. Maintain the swimming pool at Armco Park. Work closely with Lifeguards to maintain pool operations.
3. Responsible for efficient scheduling of Groundskeepers at Armco Park to maintain operational costs.
4. Oversee Groundskeeper at Armco Park to ensure daily workload checklist is completed.
5. Coordinate with staff as needed for Armco Park rental usage and availability; function set-up and break down.
6. Support other BCFYMCA properties year-round as directed by supervisor.
7. Assist with BCFYMCA projects as directed by Property Managers.
8. Responsible for basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting and HVAC at assigned properties.
9. Ensure BCFYMCA building and property is secure during shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
10. Record and report all needed repairs; perform repairs as directed.
11. Maintain safe, clean, sanitary conditions throughout the building and property; eliminate safety hazards.
12. Maintain and operate equipment in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
13. Ensure the YMCA is attractive and clean by completing all duties on daily schedule; may perform wet and dust mopping, trash removal, recycling, window washing, pool cleaning, painting, vacuuming, seasonal activities with regards to lawn care & snow removal, and general repairs.
14. Operate related motorized and non-motorized equipment.
15. Perform and maintain monthly/annual facility checklists with Property Managers.
16. Safety Committee Member.
17. Follow YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergency procedures.
18. Perform other duties as assigned.
