What are the responsibilities and job description for the Feed Mill Manager position at Butterball?
Job Summary:
Manage the operations of the Feed Mill including feed manufacturing, delivery, quality, production costs and employee relations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Directs Feed Mill Operation providing the best manufacturing practices.
- Ensures that all manufacturing practice policies are completed and documented.
- Ensures that FDA and GIPSA requirements are followed and documented.
- Ensures proper feed delivery to growing farms is accurate and timely.
- Ensures proper QC procedures and policies are adhered to.
- Responsible for the operational costs including manufacturing, delivery, and labor.
- Monitors and minimizes shrink in ingredients and finished feeds.
- Provides good “housekeeping” practices.
- Insures a clean environment throughout the Mill.
- Enforces Safety Procedures and processes.
- Monitors the execution of the preventative maintenance program.
- Completes special projects as assigned by Live Operations Manager.
- Ensures safety and well-being of employees - striving for zero accidents.
Qualifications/ Education/Experience/Skills:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Feed Technology or related field.
- Three years’ experience in management.
- Computer skills and effective communication skills are necessary.
- Valid driver’s license required.
Equipment Operation:
Understand the operations of a modern automated Feed Mill and the basic maintenance that is required to continue the feed production process.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to walk, stand, kneel, crawl, climb ladders and stairs and grasp/maneuver mechanical items.
- Ability to lift/carry 55 lbs.
- Ability to be comfortable working at extreme heights.
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing environment where the ability to multi-task may be necessary.
- The work environment will include work indoors and outdoors, often in hot and cold conditions.

Salary : $70,600 - $89,400
