ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Performs accounting preparation and administrative functions relative to maintaining compliance plan for each assigned grant. Assists assigned departments with the preparation of grant applications. Submits approved grant applications. Assists departments with subrecipient risk assessment and monitoring. Maintains and distributes grant documents, checklists and other information, as needed. Conducts initial grant work sessions to outline compliance plans for the grant lifecycle. Updates compliance plan, as needed. Attends meetings, workshops, webinars and conferences, as necessary. Provides training to grants administrative staff and others, as directed. Ensures the financial department is established and properly budgeted for new grants. Maintains the grants administration and other databases for proper tracking and reporting. Provides technical assistance during the grant lifecycle, as needed. Monitors and interprets applicable laws, regulations and policies. Participates in monitoring visits by funding agencies. Performs related duties as required.
Physical Requirements: Tasks are essentially sedentary, with occasional walking, and/or bending. Must be able to exert a negligible amount of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
Data Conception: Requires the ability to compare and/or judge the readily observable, functional, structural or compositional characteristics (whether similar to or divergent from obvious standards) of accounts, internal control systems as well as documented policies and procedures.

Requires the ability to communicate effectively in Standard English, and in the various professional languages relevant to cost accounting and accounts management activities.

Verbal Aptitude: Requires the ability to record and deliver information, to explain procedures, to issue and follow verbal and written instructions. Must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently in a variety of technical and/or professional languages used within the parameters of the job.
Numerical Aptitude: Requires the ability to add and subtract totals, multiply and divide, use decimals and calculate percentages, to determine weight; compute discount, profit and loss, ratio and proportion; interpret graphs.
Form/Spatial Aptitude: Requires the ability to inspect items for proper length, width, and shape; identify degrees of similarity in form; and visually read various information.
Motor Coordination: Requires the ability to coordinate hands and eyes using modern office equipment.
Manual Dexterity: Must have minimal levels of eye/hand/foot coordination.
Color Discrimination: May not require the ability to differentiate colors and shades of color.
Interpersonal Temperament: Requires the ability to deal with people beyond receiving instructions. Must be adaptable to performing under stress when confronted with frequent deadlines. Requires the ability to exercise consistent tact and courtesy in frequent contact with various professionals, County staff, and the general public.
