What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Generalist position at BY YOUR SIDE-Autism Therapy Services?

The BY YOUR SIDE HR Generalist is responsible for creating, implementing and completing a variety of tasks to support the daily operations of the HR department. This role is responsible for providing administrative support to various Human Resources services. You will be responsible for the full cycle of Onboarding and weekly Orientations, as well as administering You will also be a point person for employee relation concerns/issues. HR data input in payroll system and central reach, maintenance, of personnel files, and various administrative and clerical functions.

This is a full-time position and hours of work and days may vary based upon the needs of the business. Your required work location may be split between Darien and Schaumburg; however, days and locations may vary depending on the needs of the business.

Core duties and responsibilities include the following.

  • Schedule, set up and prepare all onboarding, preferably on Mondays, conduct remote orientation (pre and post), including i9 verifications and compliance, testing (HIPAA, Bloodborne Pathogen, Sexual Harassment and Mandated Reporter).
  • Conduct all background screens and ensure compliance.
  • Maintain and schedule all online training (HIPAA, Bloodborne Pathogen, Mandated Reporter and Sexual Harassment) and oversee semi-annual and annual review process.
  • Oversee and input all new hires in the payroll data base system; as well as into Central Reach.
  • Generating official internal documents such as offer letters, etc.
  • Creating onboarding documents, educating newly hired employees on HR policies, internal procedures and regulations.
  • Maintaining physical and uploading employee personnel digital files and their documents.
  • Follow up with employee engagement plans, meet and greets and stay interviews.
  • Follow up and resolve employee relation issues.
  • Preparing all anniversary certificates, keeping track of gifts and preparing updates and assisting the HR staff for distribution.
  • Perform various administrative and clerical functions for the HR Department, including, but not limited to, unemployment claims, Employee verifications, HR and Health emails, reviewing scans, faxing, copying, printing, data entry, creating revising documents, maintaining, creating and organizing files, database, coordinating training programs, updating reports, etc.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1 years experience in a human resource role.
  • 1 years experience with orientation and onboarding required.
  • Employee Relation experience is strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to appropriately handle confidential and sensitive information. Experience handling such information is required.
  • Must have a high level of initiative and be able to work effectively without constant, direct supervision.
  • Flexibility and dependability with schedule as weekend coverage and on-call hours may be expected.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced environment with multiple changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, execute on deadlines and produce high-quality deliverables with a great attention to details.
  • Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to travel as needed.
  • Strong verbal, written communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products.
  • Other special projects as assigned.
