What are the responsibilities and job description for the Procurement Lead position at C.H. Robinson?
The Procurement Lead will assist the Manager of Procurement Services in the day to day execution of procurement events. This role will support both external customer engagement as well as the internal C.H. Robinson network. The accountability spans from; data preparation, managing submission of rates, system configuration, providing users with training, development of strategy to presenting the customer deliverables. They will complete a portion of the project deliverables and be the primary contact and facilitator of most project meetings. Balancing creativity and flexibility with consistency and results, they will plan and execute complex projects to achieve internal and external customer satisfaction. Learning, contribution and mastery of group methodology and the ability to apply it to varied situations is a critical aspect of this role.
Responsibilities:
• Manage internal and external customer expectations and relationships
• Define internal and external project teams
• Identify and build relationships with project stakeholders
• Work with stakeholders to gain commitment of project team resources
• Transition relationships to carrier providers, customer stakeholders and TMS providers
• Be accountable for quality, review and delivery of all customer documents
• Lead and facilitate project tollgate meetings, be accountable for results and customer sign off
• Documentation of project, scope, communications and expectations
• Collaborate with Manager of Procurement Services and Customer Stakeholders
• Assist other groups, especially with sales and account management
• Benchmarking support
• Maintain and expand internal CHRW network of relationships, especially to subject matter experts
• Evolve group methodology, tools, techniques, infrastructure and presentations
• Track hours of time spent by project, branch and assignment in accordance with group guidelines
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the Manager of Procurement Services
• Resolve project issues
• Assess and manage project risk
• Support gathering of post-engagement feedback and internal reviews
• Other duties assigned
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree Required
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant procurement, project management, or transportation experience
• Six Sigma, CSCP and process improvement experience preferred

• Full time position with flexible hours, some night and weekend hours may be required
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and Access

• Up to 5% travel may be required (domestic and/or international)
• Expected travel for 2 events per year
