General Laborer
Location: Florida
Ø Base Camp (Post-Disaster Relief Area)

Job Summary:
We are seeking dedicated and hardworking General Laborers to join our disaster relief team at the base camp. The ideal candidates will assist in various tasks essential to supporting the operations and logistics of a base camp set up in response to a disaster. This role is crucial in ensuring that relief efforts are carried out efficiently and effectively, providing support to both the team and affected individuals.
Key Responsibilities:
o Site Preparation and Maintenance:
· Assist in setting up and maintaining base camp facilities, including tents, sanitation units, and common areas.
· Perform routine inspections and maintenance of equipment and camp infrastructure.
· Moves, secures, installs, builds, loads, or unloads materials.
· Effectively using heavy and light equipment, depending on the jobsite/assignment.
o Logistics and Supply Management:
· Assist with unloading, organizing, and distributing supplies and equipment.
· Maintain inventory records and report shortages or damaged goods.
· Support the team in the transportation of materials within the base camp and surrounding areas.
o Support Services:
· Aid in the preparation and distribution of meals and clean water
· Collect dirty laundry
· Provide assistance in establishing communication lines and basic services for affected individuals.
· Help in setting up and organizing relief activities and community support programs.
o Safety and Compliance:
· Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
· Report any hazards or incidents immediately to the Site Supervisor.
· Participate in safety drills and training sessions as required.
o Team Collaboration:
· Work collaboratively with other team members and volunteers to achieve common goals.
· Assist in problem-solving and provide innovative solutions to challenges faced at the camp.
· Exhibit flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
· Previous experience in shelter management, disaster management, logistics, or similar roles is preferred.
· Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and lift heavy objects.
· Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Valid driver's license is a plus.
Additional Requirements:**
· Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and potentially hazardous environments.
· Availability for extended hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
· Commitment to upholding the mission and values of the disaster relief organization.
· *Bilingual is preferred.
**Compensation:**
· Competitive hourly wage based on experience.
