Overview
The Data Networks Operations team is responsible for supporting C Spire’s corporate local and wide area networks, associated infrastructure, and systems. This team plays a critical role in ensuring the health of our retail and corporate operations. By responding to new operational needs, determining and eliminating the root causes of problems, and working closely with internal and external vendors, members of the Data Networks Team are vital to ensuring we meet our goal of being the BEST in our industry.

Responsibilities
- Cross-train and develop skills of staff, to include succession planning. Hire, train, and give performance feedback to employees.
- Accountable for the development of long-range plans for systems development and responsible for the implementation of systems; ensures appropriate research is conducted, oversees the evaluation of alternatives and determines solutions.
- Evaluate and implement third-party applications. Negotiate licensing fees and maintenance costs. Establish service level agreements. Manage third-party vendor relationships.
- Oversees the planning, organizing, assigning and supervision of the work activities of department
- Reviews, evaluates, and approves preliminary surveys, proposed modifications, design specifications, time and cost estimates, and documentation. Ensures formal reviews are conducted of new development or revised production systems prior to implementation.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field, or equivalent years of related work experience.
- 4-6 year of experience in networking technologies (Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, Palo Alto and Meraki).
- Proven knowledge in software and systems architecture, design and implementation.
- Proven experience building high performance scalable processes, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences.
- Proven experience operating highly scalable and highly available processes.
- Demonstrated ability owning and driving results in a fast-paced environment.
- Must possess strong analytical skills, with excellent problem-solving abilities. Demonstrated ability to formulate data driven decisions that lead to results.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects/priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- PREFERRED
- Proven experience leading technical teams in the networking space.
- Sound business judgment, proven ability to influence and negotiate.
- Demonstrated passion for people leadership, management, and mentoring.
- Proven ability to navigate complex cross-functional environment.
- Solid understanding of IT project management tools.
- Must have a strong desire and demonstrated ability to successfully lead people and manage resources.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be able to sit for long periods of time and use computer keyboard and/or mouse, while viewing computer screen. Must be able to work a flexible schedule shared by other department members including some evenings and weekends.
