Cabinet Authority, Inc. – Kitchen & Bath Designer/Interior Designer

Position Title: Kitchen & Bath Designer/Interior Designer

Employment Type: Full Time

Shifts: Monday through Friday with occasional variability due to customer availability

Salary: Salaried position commiserate of experience starting at $50,000 with bonus structure in accordance with the Authority Companies.

Benefits: Full time benefits available upon 3 months of full-time service to include health insurance if required – to be paid as a single person plan with any additional coverage for spouse or family to be covered by the employee. Opportunity to participate in a Health Savings Plan and additional insurance coverage through Aflac as desired – to be paid by the employee. Simple IRA benefit will begin after 2 years of service to the company with a 3% company match to employee contributions, paid time off based on years of service, company debit cards for access to company bank accounts for company related purchases, gas card to be used for company related travel in company vehicles, company provided vehicle, computer software system and hardware – surface, docking station, dual monitors, etc. to complete necessary business. Ability to use contracted services at cost and purchase materials at cost. Education, training, and development with travel and all expenses covered and to be scheduled as needed and with collaboration with the team.

To foster the growth of the organization and the sister companies, the position of Kitchen & Bath Designer/Interior Designer will be a leader with experience in this highly dynamic setting.

The Kitchen & Bath Designer/Interior Designer’s organizational, communication, and leadership skills must be second to none and should enjoy developing solutions that push innovative boundaries. The Kitchen & Bath Designer/Interior Designer will work closely with the leadership team and cross-collaborate with team members from the Authority companies to strategize and develop long-term plans that usher in new levels of productivity and success at the Authority Companies. The Kitchen & Bath Designer/Interior Designer manages all key client projects in the area of cabinetry/shelving and interior design and works in collaboration with the team members of the Authority Companies.

General responsibilities include performing sales related activities for the Cabinet Authority such as initial consults via phone and in person, conceptual design and establishing initial pricing for customers to and ultimately close the sale. Coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope. Oversee all aspects of projects as it relates to the cabinetry and/or design. Development of new product offerings as it relates to cabinetry in the remodel, new construction, development, and commercial spaces. Assisting in the development and sales of the Authority Companies and additional business ventures

Responsibilities:

  • Design and draft all cabinetry, shelving, floor plan related projects
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Manage changes to the project design, scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project and design documentation
  • Meet with clients to design detailed scope of project and clarify specific requirements of each project
  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the success of short and long-term goals
  • Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis
  • Develop comprehensive design plans to be shared with clients as well as other team members
  • Use and continually develop leadership skills
  • Attend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Proven working experience in the design field or equivalent
  • Proficient in applications used to create 3D models
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Buildertrend, 2020, Cabinet Vision, and other software platforms preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience

Skills & Qualifications:

1. Proven experience as a Kitchen & Bath Designer/Interior Designer or equivalent position.

2. Ability to design and create cabinetry, shelving, and spaces that are engaging and welcoming

3. Superior knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles, including finance, customer service, production, marketing, sales, design, and team management.

4. Proven ability to plan and manage operational process for maximum efficiency and productivity

5. Strong working knowledge of industry regulations, codes, and legislative guidelines.

6. Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.

7. Outstanding communication and social skills to include good oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to include good customer service skills.

8. Superior negotiation skills in both internal and external settings.

9. Familiarity with various business related software and drafting software – ie. Word, Excel, Buildertrend, 2020, Cabinet Vision, with ability to accept and receive additional training as needed.

10. National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) preferred with High School Diploma required

11. Flexible, independent, and self-motivated with desire to advance career.

12. Focus on high quality performance and focus on excellent results.

13. Ability to operate in various environments and varying locations.

14. Valid Driver’s License

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $51,864.00 - $58,516.00 per year
