Qualifications Desired | Basic Qualifications The Area Coordinator must be able to work independently, demonstrate initiative, display strong commitment to student learning, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively with stakeholders inside and outside of the University. Individuals in this position must have the ability and willingness to assume shared responsibility for campus-wide on-call duty and respond to crisis and emergency situations. Preferred Qualifications Post-baccalaureate experience in residence life, counseling, teaching, and living/learning environments is desired. Job Description Summary | Position Overview The Area Coordinator (AC) is a full-time, twelve-month, live-in position. Reporting to the Director of Residence Life, the AC provides administrative, supervisory, student personnel, counseling, and conflict resolution services in a residential setting. As a live-in member of the residence hall staff, the AC works with students in developing an excellent living and learning environment, creating positive learning experiences outside the classroom, and assisting individuals with their personal needs and concerns. The Area Coordinator is charged with supervising undergraduate staff in the area and collaborating with campus partners, to shape the environment and experiences of residential students.
