What are the responsibilities and job description for the Integration Engineer (Linux) position at CACI?
CACI is seeking an integration engineer in the domain of Linux engineering/administration to join the Open Architect (OA) Distributed Common Ground Station (DCGS) team located at Langely AFB, VA. The ideal candidate will interface with the local OA DCGS team and the program office to ensure best practices and efficient operations of the Linux servers/workstations. Additionally, the candidate will assist in troubleshooting of Linux related issues and provide feedback and guidance for any future installation, integration, and developmental Linux server/workstation tasks.
What You’ll Get to Do:
- Install, configure, and integrate Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers and related software.
- Maintain Puppet manifests and modules to automate configuration and deployment tasks.
- Implement Puppet best practices to ensure efficient and consistent management of infrastructure resources.
- Perform version control and testing of Puppet code changes.
- Collaborate with other teams to provision and configure Linux servers to meet application and business requirements.
- Assist in installing patches according to the Patch Management Plan leveraging Satellite and YUM.
- Create/Manage Kickstart scripts for automated deployment.
- Manage Kubernetes deployments.
- Manage Docker deployments based on OEM requirements.
- Assist the program office personnel in ensuring that best practices are applied to decisions in compliance with security requirements.
- Provide recommendations regarding the Linux infrastructure.
- Assist OEM and DMC installation teams as required in the deployment of mission applications and infrastructure updates.
- Attend Technical Exchange Meetings representing the DMC for OEM/Program Office efforts.
- Create and maintain system documentation, including procedures and configurations.
- Assist T1-T3 technicians as required in troubleshooting/installation efforts.
- Train and assist team members on job-related tasks.
- Troubleshoot complex multi-disciplinary IT technical issues.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI.
- BS degree in Computer Science or related degree with 6 years of experience, or 10 years of experience if no degree.
- Security CE certification.
- Minimum of 5 years DCGS experience.
- Proven experience as a Linux Engineer/Administrator with a focus on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
- Strong understanding of programmatic flow and coding.
- Strong proficiency in Puppet configuration management, including writing/maintaining Puppet manifests and modules.
- Solid understanding of Linux server virtualization and containerization technologies (e.g., VMware, Docker)
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Ansible, Bash, Python) for automation tasks.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., RHCE, Puppet Certified Professional, Linux Essentials) are a plus.
- Experience with one or more of the following technologies: YUM, Redhat Satellite, Kickstart, Harbor, Kubernetes.
