What You’ll Get to Do:

The Material Expeditor will be part of the CACI Customer Support in Franklin, LA.  This off site group of CACI personnel will be intimately involved with the customer working Engineering, Planning, Supply Support, and Production operations.  The Material Expeditor will assist the Logistics Lead (Material) and the customer in planning, coordinate warehousing, and material distribution.  Additionally, this position is a critical position in ensuring the expeditious movement of material and adherence to production schedules.


More About the Role:
The Material Expeditor will be working in a production environment associated with the advance planning and accomplishment of welding operations on platforms and jigs used to support the construction of the aluminum structures.  He/she will work with the Engineering Planner in support of the integration of material transportation and storage in support of the Production Schedule.  The Material Expeditor will:

• Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials, parts, components and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules or department supervisors' priorities.
• Verify the accuracy of incoming shipments by comparing items and quantities unloaded against bills of lading, invoices, manifests, storage receipts, or other records.
• Ensures materials are appropriately identified and keeps records of goods received.
• Assist in the tracking down of soon-to-be-overdue shipments and/or coordinates with supplier on future shipments in accordance with production and shipping schedules.
• Use the CACI Asset Smart System to compile reports of quantity and type of material on hand.
• Assists in the preparation of hazardous waste shipments, including proper labeling of all hazardous waste.
• Maintaining standards for safety within the warehouse and storage areas. (inspecting facilities and equipment, promptly responding to reports of accidents, removing clutter or hazards, hazardous waste documentation and procedures)
• Assist in the development of reports, notices and documents relative to the receipt, storage, movement and tracking of material from the CACI Asset Smart System and legality
• Assist in the development of or improvements to an existing electronic filing system for administrative documentation that guarantees swift retrieval of requested documents.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

• Familiar with the heavy lifting and handling of material.
• The candidate must have experience with going out for quotes on material and ordering materials
• Knowledgeable of major elements of a Product Schedule and a Quality Management Plan.
• Familiar with reading and interpreting engineering drawings, sketches and other technical documents to determine that the geometry of material match the part or assembly described in a Bill of Lading or Bill of Material.
• Experienced in the use of Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Project, Power Point).
• The candidate need be familiar with production planning and scheduling systems and be familiar with the application and use of an Earned Value Management System.
• The ability to organize, attend and participate in meetings and document and follow up on important actions and decisions from meetings.
• The candidate must have the ability to prepare necessary presentation materials for meetings.
• Willingness to travel within the state of Louisiana, this travel (less than 25%) would include travel to sub-contractor sites. The candidate must maintain a valid driver’s license.
