Summary

This position plans, organizes, and controls assigned projects from contract award notification through program life cycles to optimize profit and meet marketing, financial, and corporate growth objectives. Provides project management for Training Systems Analysis, courseware development, and training solutions in support of the United States Department of Defense and international contracts. Provides updates for Program Management Reviews and weekly status updates. Manage projects from start to finish, within period of performance, cost, scope and quality constraints with guidance of a senior project manager or Program Manager by performing the following duties:

Project Execution

  • Coordinate transition from proposal to active project after contract award, to include preparing for and executing System Requirements Reviews, Design Reviews, and all required Systems Engineering activities
  • Act as Project Management Lead on assigned projects related to integrated training systems
  • Develop project management plan and establish milestones, sprints and objectives for projects
  • Manages team(s) of courseware developers, multi-media developers, information systems specialists, instructional designers, subject matter experts, and analysts while in project execution
  • Manage the human, financial and operational resources necessary to meet contractual and company related obligations of the project to ensure profitability.
  • Resolve project work/scheduling problems by reprioritizing activities
  • Evaluate potential project risk and develop and implement mitigation plans
  • Develop and implement project work breakdown structure.
  • Control project schedule and cost.
  • Provide support for Program Managers on all operational matters

Finance

  • Analyze and validate budget changes
  • Maintain the project budget throughout the project's period of performance
  • Provide project budget/schedule forecasts to Program Manager/Senior Manager

Customer Interaction

  • Act as primary liaison with customer on project matters such as securing customer acceptance and change control/requests
  • Provides timely updates and briefings to customer(s) based on project status and contract deliverables
  • Discuss alternative solutions with customer including contractual changes
  • Deliver results which achieve lasting satisfaction with customer and achieve financial goals

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with customer interaction involving government contract deliverables, training, and acceptance of requirements
  • Recent Project Management experience, team leadership and team integration
  • Strong knowledge of project plan, program budget and schedule development
  • Experience with determining/reporting Earned Value Management, Cost Performance Index, and Schedule Performance Index
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of applications, especially Project, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with data visualization applications such as Power BI and/or DOMO
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint
  • PMP or ability to obtain PMP certification within 6 months of employee start date
  • SAFe Agile and/or Dev Ops project implementation experience

Security Responsibilities

Must complywith all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

  • Ability to use a PC, Microsoft Office applications, and communicate via telephone
  • Ability to travel in support of customer meetings and project support as required
  • May require overtime work in support of project suspense dates
