Role and Responsibilities
CAE, the worldwide leader in aviation training is seeking a Human Resource Business Partner in Las Vegas, NV to be a part of our new premier Business Aviation Training Facility opening mid/late Summer 2022.
The CAE Business Aviation HR team is looking for a creative and dynamic HR Business Partner who can execute a full spectrum of HR deliverables that align with strategic goals. In this role, you will deliver both strategic and tactical HR support to employees and leaders. This includes utilizing strong business acumen to drive organizational initiatives, guiding and supporting leaders/employees, and partnering with specialist functions – such as recruiting, organizational development, and compensation – to develop and execute people strategies and processes across CAE.
To succeed, you must have an agile mindset with the ability to think strategically, execute tactically, and collaborate across many teams, levels, and situations. Your initial focus will be to build relationships with stakeholders by learning the business operations and support leaders in establishing the CAE culture and instill the values, vision and mission of CAE in the new Training Center in our Business Aviation network in Las Vegas.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Participate in the implementation of HR action plans, programs and projects to support the strategic objectives of the Training Center.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and leadership to attract the right talent. Continuously assess and enhance employment branding, candidate experience and process improvements.
  • Anticipate and influence HR related needs by maintaining a comprehensive understanding of business objectives to drive strategy.
  • Partner with cross-functional and regional HR subject matter experts to execute programs to support an inclusive environment, engagement, talent management, career planning, leadership coaching, learning and development, retention and strategic organizational development.
  • Analyze data and effectively organize and present findings to drive data-backed HR strategy. Draw analysis-based conclusions and collaborate on innovative solutions.
  • Participate in the implementation of change management plans, continuous improvement projects and exercise influence over various partners within CAE.
  • Maintain deep understanding of employment law, compliance programs, stay up to date on current events, operationalize policy and provide guidance to leaders and employees
  • Perform other tasks as assigned

Other Job-Related Skills/Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or related field; or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment; to include managing complex, corporate-wide projects and operationalizing policies.
  • Experience working in a multi-functional international environment; multi-site support
  • Experience in Aviation or Helicopter Industry a plus
  • Experience directly managing complex Employee Relations issues in field and corporate settings.
  • Employment law: knowledge of US employment-related federal and state employment regulations; Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action guidelines.
  • Organizational Awareness: accurately diagnose organization issues, develop solutions and implement action plans. Understand the business operations from both a strategic and tactical perspective.
  • Customer Focus: quickly and effectively solve problems and maintain productive internal and external relationships. Readily readjust priorities to respond to pressing and changing customer needs. Recognize potentially adverse customer reactions and develop better alternatives.
  • Self-management: set priorities, goals and timelines to achieve maximum productivity. Manage multiple projects and competing priorities. Display a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments in a timely manner. Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Speaking and Communication: communicate verbally in an appropriate way for the audience he/she is speaking to. Communicate effectively with co-workers. Listen with full attention to what others are saying, making sure to understand the needs being expressed, asking questions as appropriate without interrupting at an inappropriate time. Ability to effectively present information to management, customers, and other groups.
  • Decision Making & Judgement: ability to balance analysis, wisdom, experience, and perspective when making decisions.
  • Teamwork: maintain a collaborative approach in dealing with other CAE employees. Demonstrate a genuine commitment to effective partner management and collaboration with other teams to deliver a consistent employee experience.
