Role and Responsibilities

Summary

Responsible for planning, development, and capture of work associated with the SOF Enterprise, which includes managing SOF and its strategic partners business opportunities that support operations, emerging threats, and planning based on emerging needs and continually evolving missions and requirements. Subsequent to contract award, responsible for managing projects either as a prime or a sub-contractor. Responsible for SOF enterprise engagement, the establishment of an engagement strategy in coordination with the BD and PM lead, and any Senior Strategic Consultants for the SOF enterprise. Responsible for bringing new business on an already established SOF pipeline, turning that task order into a viable, competitive submission and assisting the SOF PM in the execution of programs.

  • Develop a SOF enterprise engagement strategy in order to add work onto an existing pipeline and strategic opportunity with a focus on VR and VBS capabilities, LVCG training in a live, virtual, constructive integrated architecture, synthetic training environment, and operational decision making.
  • Develop project management plan and establish goals and objectives for project(s).
  • Implement project work breakdown structure.
  • Manage the human, financial and operational resources necessary to meet contractual and company related obligations of the project to ensure profitability.
  • Evaluate potential project risk. Develop and implement mitigation plans.
  • Resolve project work/scheduling problems by reprioritizing activities.
  • Support the tracking and reporting of financial and labor hour information. Update financial information and projected expenditures (money and hours).
  • Prepare monthly status report for submission and ensure timely submission of the other CDRLs.
  • Manage and participate in win strategies and negotiation of business agreements.
  • Generate and present Strategy and Business Development activity and status reports to BD and PM leads.
  • Develop and maintain relationships within the company, the customer community and industry to better understand the market and environment.
  • Gain detailed customer knowledge to ensure understanding of customer needs and decision-making processes.
  • Serve to communicate the company’s interests to the customer, and the customer’s requirements to company management.
  • Support overall CAE marketing, business development, and communication initiatives and strategies in order to achieve the company’s new business objectives.
  • Research, analyze, and monitor requirements coming out of the SOF Enterprise in order to plan, execute solutions
  • Develop technical directions letters in coordination with the SOF customer and submission to the Prime for consideration.
  • Manage the relationship with a Prime and work within their process, keeping both CAE leadership and the Prime updated on SOF engagements.
  • Generate and presents corporate, product, and technical presentations.
  • Supervise consultants working in support of bid and proposal activities.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, International Business or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of 10-years experience serving in SOF. At least one tour at a Theater Special Operations Command and one tour at a SOF Component or SOCOM Headquarters.
  • Understanding of the US Department of Department organizations.
  • Experience with operational support activities.
  • Prior work experience with classified and unclassified government agencies.
  • Exhibit high performance and capability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to operate successfully in a volatile and dynamic market environment.
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Relative knowledge of US DOD Acquisition Policies and Procedures.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Word.

Preferred Skills

  • Master’s Degree/MBA is preferred.
  • PMP certification is highly desired. Familiarity with SAFe is preferred.
  • Staff experience working at USASOC or SOCOM headquarters at highly classified levels – TS/SCI/SAP/SAR.
  • Minimum of 4 years of Business Development and or sales is experience is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with customer interaction involving government contract deliverables and acceptance of requirements.
  • Leadership skills in stressful, dynamic environments
  • Ability to develop complex solutions to solve customer requirements
  • Security Responsibilities

Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance – TS/SCI

Work Environment and Physical Demands

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

  • Must have the ability to work overtime as necessary.
  • Must be able to sit and operate a personal computer for long periods.
  • Extensive domestic and occasional international travel
