Caffeine’s users love watching live broadcasts across all platforms and want more of them. The discovery team feeds that appetite via recommendations, social connections, and proactively searching for new opportunities to connect meaningful content to our users. Growing follower and viewer bases for our creators will have a high impact on their happiness, monetization opportunity and overall success on the platform.
In this role, you will oversee viewer-to-viewer connection and how affinity & community alignment allow users to navigate levels of connection from stranger to BFF. Watching live television is big and watching it in real time with your friends is even bigger; but making friends because of it is magical.
What You'll Do:
- Deeply understand the user funnel from new user → engaged repeat viewer.
- Balance the product vision and technical requirements to craft product strategy, roadmap, and successful end results for viewers such that they watch more content and return more often.
- Fully own your product roadmap. You'll maintain your team’s product backlog and own the prioritization process.
- Author plans and proposals to drive the product, secure buy-in and guide your design and eng teams in execution.
- Define, achieve, and maintain success metrics for content discovery and consumption.
- Work cross-functionally with engineering, design, data, marketing, community & content teammates to ensure successful end-to-end product delivery.
- Turn vague ideas into implementable projects and identify new opportunities that move the needle. You'll use a combination of experience, design, data, and instinct to make decisions.
- Work with Product Marketing, Content and partnerships to understand creator feedback and pain points regarding discovery, distribution and reach.
- Keep up with cutting edge innovations, technologies, and techniques that can potentially be applied to Caffeine. Be highly involved in long-term product strategy of Caffeine.
- Be passionate! Know our viewers inside and out, be thoughtful and considerate about the needs of the user and the business, and tell a persuasive story driven by product/design thinking and backed by data.
Who You Are & What You've Done:
- 7 years in product management working directly with engineers and designers.
- Experience using data to drive core metrics related to engagement on a consumer product.
- Passionate about user experience and working closely with designers to build a superb product.
- Highly skilled in prioritization of a roadmap, keeping a team focused and stakeholders informed.
- You get people fired up and inspired to do incredible things and are the center point of accountability for your team. You push to achieve the best possible outcome with a focus on quality and user experience.
- Collaborative! You love helping engineers, designers, community guides, and other teams around you do their best work. You are a great communicator and excel at bringing teams together to achieve a common goal.
- Proactively coordinate, manage, and deliver multiple small and large projects at the same time.
- Platform & systems strategist who can balance big picture strategy with detailed, flawless execution.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with discovery and distribution or video content consumption.
- Passion and knowledge for internet, digital, and pop culture trends.
- Interest in the live content domain.
