Responsibilities: Responsible for the production of assigned landscape installation or incidental work as directed by the Landscape Construction Management.
Essential Functions: To successfully fulfill this job position, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. - Receive assignments from Landscape Construction Management.
- Execute assignments by direct supervision of crew members with minimum assistance.
- Study plans and specifications prior to start up meeting.
- Uses plans and specifications to carry out landscape installation work.
- Plans ahead for labor and equipment deployment for most efficient and proactive operations. Submits and discusses plans with Construction LC Manager. Submits material orders to Expeditor, or orders themselves.
- Enforces compliance with project budgets.
- Trains and instructs crew members.
- Ensure proper care, use, storage, maintenance & handling of tools, equipment & materials.
- Strictly enforces company safety program, policies and procedures.
- Recognizes and anticipates problems, participates in problem solving with superiors, promptly implements solutions.
- Complies with all established company policies and procedures.
- Works five consecutive 8-hour days during assigned business hours, weather permitting, and is available to work overtime if requested.
- Ability to work at a pace that is aligned with production standards and expectations set by Managers.
Physical Requirements of this Position:
- Ability to lift and carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds of landscape material and equipment daily.
- Ability to start and use all power equipment without aid from others.
- Ability to walk, stand, squat and kneel repetitively on a daily basis.
- Makes frequent repetitive movements with the left & right hand, wrist, ankle and knee.
- Ability to twist, turn and bend the trunk of the body frequently.
Other Responsibilities:
- Performs similar job related duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
- Ability to effectively understand and communicate with manager, customer and fellow crew members.
- Must be able to read and write English.
- Possession of a valid California driver's license with a driving record acceptable to the Company's insurance carrier is preferable but not required.
Working Conditions While Performing this Position:
- Outdoor physical labor in temperatures ranging from cold 20° to heat of 100° ; possible light rain.
- Exposure to dust, pollen, chemicals, noise and pollutants related to the landscape industry (fertilizer, pesticide, etc.).
- Machinery/equipment noise, traffic and hazards related to the landscape industry in a busy commercial environment.
