What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Java Developer position at CALIBRE Systems, Inc.?

CALIBRE Systems Inc., an employee-owned Management Consulting and Digital Transformation Company is seeking a Software Developer (Senior) that develops and supports EEOC's Enterprise applications. This position will be located in Washington DC and will be a fully remote position.

Responsibilities:

Builds and codes applications and/or modules using languages such as C , visual basic, ABAP, JAVA, XTML, etc. Provides patches and upgrades to existing systems. Involved in planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standards. May design graphical user interface (GUI) to meet the specific needs of users. Prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. May build add-on modules using application program language.

  • Designs and codes applications following specifications using the appropriate tools
  • Maintains and modifies existing software applications.
  • Analyzes detailed systems factors, including input and output requirements, information flow, hardware and software requirements, and alternative methods of problem resolution.
  • Performs modifications to and maintenance of operational programs and procedures.
  • Participates in code reviews to represent reviewed work for adherence to standards and specifications.
  • Writes or revises program documentation, operations documentation and user guides in accordance with standards.
Required Skills

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of Java experience
  • Strong hands-on experience 8 years with Core Java;
  • Must have at least 7 years of experience with Spring Framework (preferably Spring Boot);
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience designing and developing Micro-services;
  • Strong fundamentals in object-oriented design, design patterns, data structure, algorithms & complex analysis;
  • Strong hands-on experience with RDBMS, Java ORM tools & framework such as Hibernate and JPA;
  • Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions; and
  • Extensive experience in writing and executing JUnit test cases & debugging Spring Framework-based applications
  • Clearance Required: Suitability/Public Trust
Required Experience

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Understanding & experience in API management, Swagger;
  • Experience in Scrum/Agile development;
  • Familiarity with GitHub & Maven;
  • Familiarity with developing and deploying applications on AWS and/or Azure;
  • Familiarity with Security specifications such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect and SSO
