Description
This Class A position is a Graveyard Shift from 8PM to 6AM. The exact start and end time of each shift can vary somewhat depending on operational needs and weather.
The Class A (linehaul) Drive supports the Operations Manager and department in the performance of nightly activities which includes, but are not limited to, operating up to a 53-foot tractor trailer to perform drop and hook deliveries of freight in a time-sensitive and professional manner.
The Class A Driver maintains accurate, up-to-date records such as, but not limited to, Electronic Logging Device (ELD), Vehicle Inspection Reports, daily manifests, and incident reporting.
The Class A Driver adheres to laws and regulations governed by regulatory agencies such as, but not limited to, The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), Department of Transportation (DOT), and Transportation Safety Administration (TSA). This is a safety sensitive position and falls under federal drug and alcohol regulations.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Class A Drivers License (CDL).
- Must be at least 23 years of age.
- Minimum of two (2) years commercial driving experience.
- Clean DMV record (no serious moving violations in the past 5 years)
- Valid DOT Medical Examination Card.
- Knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, federal, state, and local traffic laws and regulations.
- Hazardous materials (HAZMAT) certification, preferred.
- Experience driving in adverse weather conditions, mountains, and chaining installation.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English; verbally and in writing.
