Job Summary
Working under the administrative direction of the Director of CAPS and Interim Director of the Student Health Center, the Interim Lead Physician performs primary care duties while also serving in an interim leadership capacity, providing medical oversight of the clinical work of staff physicians at the Student Health Center (SHC). The incumbent is a key member of a dedicated, collaborative team of physicians, nurse practitioners and others committed to providing high quality, cost-effective, evidence-based medical care and prevention services to support the health and success of SSU students. The incumbent maintains high professional standards and demonstrates objectivity, reliability, productivity, sound judgment, sense of shared responsibility, strong work ethic and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. In addition, the incumbent collaborates with the Interim Director of the SHC in providing medical oversight to plan, organize, and advocate for the SHC and its mission to serve students.

Must have the ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the university and establish and maintain productive and effective, inclusive working relationships amongst diverse populations including staff, faculty, administration, students, and other internal and external constituents.
Salary and Benefits
This is a full-time, exempt probationary position scheduled to work 11 months each year. The compensation for the 11 months of work will be paid out over 12 months with one position having the month of June observed, and the other position having the month of July observed. Starting salary placement depends on qualifications and experience and will not exceed $220,008 annually.
In accordance with the California State University 11/12 pay plan, the salary earned for months worked will ultimately be pro-rated to an 11/12 salary schedule and paid over 12 months in equal increments, with benefits covered for the entire 12 months. Under the 11/12 schedule, the salary placement will not exceed 16,806 per month, paid over 12 months with continuous benefits eligibility. Should the starting date not coincide with a standard 11/12 pay plan cycle, the employee will start at an equivalent full time 12-month salary rate with either the month of June off unpaid and be converted to the 11/12 rate in July 2023 with benefits covered for the entire 12 months moving forward.
This position is eligible for a broad range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation and sick leave. In addition, 14 paid holidays are offered each year; 13 scheduled on specific days and a Personal Holiday that may be taken any time during the year.
