What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dishwasher position at Calistoga Depot Provisions?
The Porter/Dishwasher participates in the daily operations of the store including: daily washing of dishes, pots, pans and utensils; cleaning of kitchen equipment and facilities, prep work, and maintenance of safety, sanitation and cleanliness standards.
Essential Skills and Responsibilities:
- Maintains a positive and motivated attitude when working with customers and fellow employees. Maintains a positive attitude during high stress situations. Shows respect for others.
- Works well with others, is proactive in finding ways to help others, helps others when asked to by fellow employees and management. Follows directions as communicated. Reads and follows instructions on employee notice memos. Is able to adapt to new directions as they may change with business needs.
- Maintains a clean and well sanitized work station. Keeps floors, counters and equipment clean during and after the shift. Maintains a clean uniform during shift, protects uniform during shift by being aware of soiled areas.
- Arrives to work on time and is ready to work in full uniform at scheduled time. Is prepared to work mentally and physically for the shift. Utilities proper call out procedures. Maintains good personal hygiene.
- Has full understanding of the tasks required for the position of employment. Asks questions whenever there is an uncertainty regarding a task. Understands employee guidelines as printed in the employee handbook. Aware of the dangers of the work environment and is proactive at maintaining safety standards. Quickly cleans spills on the floors and removes any possible dangers that may be evident in the work environment.
- Accomplishes tasks efficiently. Able to complete tasks quicker as the employee gains experience. Proactive at finding new tasks, as tasks are completed, operating with little management oversight. Goes above and beyond what is expected as an employee.
- Maintain kitchen floors throughout the day; free of water, grease, and debris.
- Maintain garbage throughout the day; transport cardboard, recycling, and grease to proper containers. Including the patio.
- Organize and clean dry storage and walk-in refrigerator; shelves, floors, walls, etc.
- Maintain cleaning supplies and equipment. Communicate ordering needs and supply/equipment problems to Chef and/or Sous Chef.
- Divide and properly store deliveries as soon as receiving is completed.
- Follow proper food storage practices; label, date, and wrap all items.
- Know and follow excellent sanitation practices.
