What are the responsibilities and job description for the Naturalist position at Calvert County, MD?

Hourly position, Grade H15. Days and hours vary.
Performs naturalist work in County parks and natural resource areas. The work involves carrying out educational programs for school classes. The work requires experience conducting environmental education programs for school classes. Workers report to a technical supervisor.
Organizes materials, volunteers and materials and conducts programs; cleans up and reorganizes materials upon completion, and evaluates program effectiveness.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (These are pre-employment KSA that apply only to Essential Job Functions.)
Knowledge of-
- Principles and practices of the biological sciences as applied to the programs of the County parks and natural resources areas.
Ability to-
- Develop and present educational programs.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others encountered in the work.
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Deal effectively with school children, teachers and adult chaperones.
- Deal effectively with the public.
Required Qualifications (Note: Any acceptable combination of education, training and relevant experience that provides the above knowledge, skills, and abilities may be substituted on a full-time year for year basis.)
Training and/or Education:
High School diploma or GED equivalent. College coursework preferred.
Experience: Six months of recent experience conducting environmental education programs for school classes.
Licenses or Certificates:
Valid driver's license.
Special Requirements:
Must be 18 years old.
Subject to background investigation.
Operation of a County owned vehicle.
Physical Demands:
Requires long periods of standing, frequent walking indoors, repeated bending, crouching, stooping stretching or reaching; recurring lifting of objects up to 49 pounds.
