Life and Short Term Disability Analyst I - LifeMap
Portland, Oregon
The Life and Short Term Disability Analyst reviews and adjudicates Group Life, Voluntary Life, STD and Voluntary STD, AD&D and Voluntary AD&D and Waiver Life claims. Provides prompt and accurate benefit payments. Provides responsive customer service to claimants, policyholders, plan offices, brokers, beneficiaries and agents.

Responsibilities & Requirements
· Ability to utilize claim investigative techniques to identify and evaluate claim information in a fair and objective manner.
· Detail oriented; ability to analyze and research contract information.
· Demonstrated ability to make balanced decisions with the highest degree of integrity and fairness.
· Ability to express ideas and recommendations clearly and with a high level of professionalism in written and oral communications.
· PC skills; ability to operate effectively in an imaged environment.
· Ability to work with others in a highly collaborative team environment.
· Demonstrated ability to multitask and balance goals and priorities.
· Excellent customer service skills and problem solving skills, and basic math skills.
· Operating knowledge of claim payment systems preferred.
Normally to be proficient in the competencies listed above: The Life and STD Analyst would have a Bachelor’s degree in health or business related field or equivalent job related work experience. Medical background and/or disability claim experience preferred.
