The Oracle Applications Database Administrator will be responsible for the performance tuning and support of the Oracle R12 database. The Oracle DBA is required to support our development / stage and Production Oracle EBS and Core instances in 24*7 shift support model. The Oracle DBA will be responsible for installation, configuration, upgrading, administrating, monitoring, troubleshooting, cloning, Patching, Backup and restore of Oracle EBS. Would be responsible for reviewing application/databases, identifying performance bottlenecks and fixing those.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Overall day-to-day support of the E-Business Suite (EBS) instances, including researching and troubleshooting application and database issues
- Strong understanding of Oracle E-Business Suite R12 Architecture (Oracle Applications Environment, Oracle Applications File System, configuration options etc.)
- Perform Oracle EBS installation, upgrades, patching, performance tuning and monitoring
- Support and maintain Oracle database environments development and test.
- Develop and maintain proper documentation for DBA processes, procedures and tasks
- Attend design reviews, review explain plans, SQL code reviews and other general database administrators tasks as required
- Work with other technology teams to establish and maintain multiple Oracle EBS environments
- Manage and configure Oracle Enterprise Manager for proactive monitoring and alerting
- Assist with business continuity planning, ensuring backup and recovery plans are in place
- Skilled with cloning Oracle EBS, including use of Oracle Rapid Clone utilities
- Support development team with database design, code migration, tuning and data management
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field or equivalent- 7 years of experience as an Application DBA for Oracle EBS 11i or higher version
- 5 years of experience with Oracle RMAN backup and recovery tool
- Strong working knowledge of Oracle Linux 7 or equivalent
- Familiarity with Cisco Tidal Enterprise Scheduler
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, including technical documentation
- Ability to work independently, make assessments, and take necessary action
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including both technology and business resources
- Understanding of current technologies and best practices related to Oracle products
