Job Description:
The primary purpose of your job position is to perform the day-to-day activities for Laundry in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing our facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator, to assure that our facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner.
Laundry:
- Ensure that work/cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical.
- Maintain a clean and odor free atmosphere in all public areas and resident accommodations.
- Performs laundry Duties.
- Delivers soiled linens to laundry; sorts, washes, dries, folds and returns clean linens to linen closets and resident rooms.
- Cleans laundry room, sorting and soiled linen tubs.
- Reports any needed repairs to supervisor.
- Vacuums and extracts carpeted surfaces.
- Checks supplies and inventory and informs supervisor when low.
- Makes suggestion for changes in procedures and/or equipment to maintain high standards and safe working conditions.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Housekeeping:
- Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services when performing routine cleaning assignments in patient living and/or recreational areas.
- Maintains clean atmosphere throughout Community.
- Cleans and makes resident beds.
- Cleans resident rooms and apartments, including bathroom and resident items (wheelchair, commode, etc.)
- Maintains adequate supplies such as bathroom tissue, paper towels, and hand soap.
- Maintains clean atmosphere in all public areas, including dining room, dayrooms, break room, public bathrooms, etc.
- Dusts, vacuum and wet mops all corridors.
- Removes trash from all areas.
- Reports any needed repairs to supervisor.
- Vacuums and extracts carpeted surfaces.
- Checks supplies and inventory and informs supervisor when low.
- Makes suggestion for changes in procedures and/or equipment to maintain high standards and safe working conditions.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Detail orientated
- Long-term care or housekeeping experience preferred
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job.
- A sunny and positive attitude
- A willingness to learn
- A desire to help others in need
- Experience caring for someone, either professionally or personally
