Logistics Coordinator
Position:
The Logistics Coordinator (LC) is responsible for day to day flow and equipment allocations. LC must have an ability to maintain a big picture view of our weekly programming schedules. LC position will always be on the go and is central to all our operations as a camp.
This position involves lifting & moving of equipment, vehicle transport, assisting in keeping the daily camp flow, cleaning and maintaining gear, and managing inventory on a daily basis. Ability to adapt to daily needs and changes is a must.
This is a residential position. Room and board are provided.
Requirements:
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Possess a clean driving record.
- Pass a CORI background check.
- Attendance at staff week for trainings.
- Current first Aid/CPR certification preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple situations effectively.
- Must be able comply with all state, federal and Camp standards.
- Must be able to lift and carry at least 30 lbs. as well as be capable of standing for long periods of time and adjusting from sitting to standing with ease.
Logistics Coordinator Skills:
- Ability to organize across various areas and elements of the camp team, and integrate these into a smooth operational flow.
- Clear and concise communicator, both verbally and on digital platforms
- Punctual and capable of managing fluctuating schedules.
- Familiar with or able to become familiar with camp-related equipment such as staff radios, knives, fire strikers, archery equipment, camping and backpacking gear, canoeing equipment, grounds maintenance tools, and residence life items.
- Balance numerous tasks simultaneously and ensure proper prioritization regarding time sensitivity.
- Capable of adopting the camp culture and enriching it with their own lived experiences and personal character.
Logistics Coordinator Tasks:
- Monitor and manage time-based elements of daily camp life, such as bell-ringing schedule.
- Upkeep camp life and activity postings via chalkboard.
- Schedule, manage, and implement camp activities and location use, delivering a smooth daily schedule for the various groups across camp’s many locations on site.
- Manage inventory and account for general camp equipment, learning materials, and activities equipment.
- Work with counselors and Kitchen Director to maintain accurate head count for food needs at main camp, and facilitate food needs for onsite camping trips.
- Work with trip leaders to pack expedition gear needs and transportation of equipment and persons to and from expedition locations.
- Work with Camp Director and Assistant Director to welcome or bid farewell to campers and interface with parents/guardians on arrival and departure days.
- Work with day camp counselors to facilitate operations and camping equipment needs during the weekly single-overnight “Foragers” program.
