Job Responsibilities:
Ensure youth are safe, healthy and living in a clean environment.
Assist in maintaining a safe and therapeutic treatment environment that meets the physical, emotional, and personal needs of program clients. Utilize approved behavior management techniques designed to encourage appropriate social behavior
Actively assist assigned clients in the participation, involvement and routine of individualized program to help open doors and create independent and productive lives for children and adolescents.
Assist and/or complete chores, room care with/for clients. Plan and implement residential program services, recreational activities and social skills development activities for assigned clients, and provide supervision of clients in program activities and leisure time, both on and off facility grounds
Expectations:
Serve as a positive role model by providing an example for acceptable behavior, language and dress;.
Redirect inappropriate behaviors and praise pro-social and appropriate behaviors. Monitor client’s behaviors and intervenes appropriately in a safe manner using de-escalation techniques and least restrictive measures as possible, and reinforcing behavior through interactions based on program philosophy.
Maintain environment in a safe and orderly manner. Takes all necessary precautions and observes all of the policies and procedures to prevent injury to clients and co-workers. Perform all duties in an orderly, reliable and timely fashion.
Accompany youth on community life outings, medical appointments and other recreational activities
- Must be able to work night and weekends (open to all shifts/days)
Qualifications
- High School Diploma and/or GED
- Possess a valid Driver’s License (preferred but not required)
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Experience 1 year minimum working with individuals with developmental disabilities
Salary : $14 - $16
