About This Position
Under the general direction of the Assistant Director, the Program Director oversees unit counselors, assists in the creation of staff and program schedules, and leads camp events.
The salary is $800-$1,000 per week, including housing and meals for the duration of employment. This is not a benefits eligible position. Travel allowance available for those who need it. Immediate start date through August.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead program development, planning and set up
- Design and implement special event days
- Lead evening activities
- Oversee camper daily class registration
- Manage Wildwood's communication during the camp seasonReceive, respond to, and distribute phone calls, e-mail, voicemail, and postal mail
- All Wildwood staff will be required to help work in the kitchen at least 2 days over the summer
- Substitute as unit counselor as needed
Qualifications
- Have prior camp or school leadership experience
- Previous experience in camping, recreation, teaching, childcare or physical education
- Have experience working in nature-based learning environments
- Have a strong interest or related education experience in Environmental Studies, Biology, Conservation, Education, or related field
- Familiarity with regional natural history, wildlife conservation, or other applicable natural history topics
- Valid driver’s license
Compensation, Benefits and Perks
