Job Summary: As an Irrigation Crew at Camvie Services, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems in various settings, including residential, commercial, and agricultural properties. This role demands a blend of technical skills, physical labor, and attention to detail to ensure the proper functioning and efficiency of irrigation systems.
Responsibilities:
1. Installation: Assist in the installation of irrigation systems based on project plans and specifications. Tasks include trenching, laying pipes, setting up sprinkler heads, valves, controllers, and ensuring proper alignment and coverage.
2. Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance activities to uphold irrigation system performance. This involves inspecting for leaks, adjusting sprinkler heads for optimal coverage, cleaning filters, and replacing or repairing faulty components as needed.
3. Repairs: Diagnose and address irrigation system issues promptly to minimize downtime and water waste. Troubleshoot problems such as leaks, broken pipes, malfunctioning valves, electrical issues, and adjust settings on controllers as necessary.
4. Programming: Assist in programming irrigation controllers to establish watering schedules tailored to specific landscapes and environmental conditions. Modify schedules as seasons change and adjust for factors like rainfall and plant growth.
5. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including installation diagrams, maintenance logs, repair reports, and inventory records. Ensure documentation is organized and accessible for future reference.
6. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other crew members to efficiently complete projects within scheduled timelines. Follow instructions from supervisors, communicate effectively, and coordinate tasks to achieve project objectives.
7. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace. Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and report any safety hazards or concerns to supervisors promptly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in irrigation, landscaping, or related fields preferred.
- Knowledge of irrigation system components, including pipes, valves, controllers, and basic electrical systems.
- Proficiency in operating hand tools, power tools, and equipment used in irrigation installation and maintenance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous tasks in various weather conditions.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record may be required.
Working Conditions:
- Work primarily outdoors, exposed to various weather conditions and terrain.
- Engage in physical activities such as lifting, digging, bending, and kneeling.
- Flexible work hours may be required, including weekends and evenings during peak seasons.
- Travel to job sites within the designated area may be necessary.
- Adherence to company policies and procedures at all times.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $13.94 - $16.00 per hour
