Boscov's Junior SOC Analyst
You will join a newly created Security Operations Center. You will receive training on a number of Information Security toolsets and will monitor the environment for suspicious activities. This position is primarily remote, however will require the ability to commute to Reading, PA about 2 times per month.

Duties
- Operate within a 24/7 Remote Virtual Security Operations Center (SOC)
- Monitor and review computer security logs and security systems
- Review reports for unusual and malicious system and user activity
- Provide tuning and correlation recommendations to remove false positives
- Follow-up on outstanding security issues and recommend remediation steps
- Research new security threats and determine how to mitigate and detect the threats
- Use and maintain ticketing systems
Requirements
- Basic understanding of security systems including: Firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, DLP
- Basic understanding of security concepts including: Least privilege, Defense in Depth
- An understanding of various attack methods and attack surfaces
- Must be able to effectively communicate with users, engineers, and other analysts
- Solid understanding of network protocols
- Must be willing to constantly learn and improve
- Strong technical and analytical skills
- Ability to commute to office (Reading, PA) 2 times per month
- Live (or will live) in one of the following states: PA, NJ, DE, MD, CT, NY, OH, RI
Nice to Have:
- Experience with various computing environments including: Windows, Linux, Z/OS
- Regex experience
- Entry level security certifications are a plus (eg. Security , GSEC)
Education/Experience
- Any of the following:
- 2 Year Associate’s Degree (In Information Security, Networking, Computer Science, or related discipline)
- Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and have two years completed.
- Equivalent years of work experience within IT roles
- Entry level security certifications are a plus (eg. Security , GSEC)
