What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse - Circulator - Operating Room position at Candidate Experience site?
Under the general supervision of the Department Director, the RN Circulator is responsible for care of the neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric surgical patient. The RN delivers care through use of the nursing process in a cost-effective manner without compromising quality of care. Expected practice behaviors include assessment, planning, implementation of perioperative nursing interventions, and evaluation. In addition, the RN Circulator meets hospital and department standards for professional accountability. This individual participates in department quality assurance and performance improvement activities and also serves as a resource person for new staff training.
The qualified candidate will possess the following:
A. Education
1. Graduate of an accredited School of Registered Professional Nursing
2. Obtains at least 20 hours of continuing education annually of which 50 percent are unit specific and age specific is at least one hour per age group
B. Experience
1. One year of experience preferred
2. Basic computer skills
C. Licensure/Certification
1. Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia
2. BLS, Healthcare Provider
3. ACLS preferred
4. AORN membership encouraged
5. Certification in OR nursing (CNOR) encouraged
