Structural Engineering Student Intern

CannonDesign has an exciting temporary opportunity for a Structural Engineering Student Intern based in our St. Louis office. We’re looking for creative, curious, empathetic people to join our Living-Centered Design movement.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This internship will provide you the opportunity to be a member of our multi-disciplinary team. Working under the supervision of Project Leadership, your projects  may include new construction and renovation in educational, healthcare, sports, corporate commercial and science and technology.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Structural analysis and design of new and existing structural systems.
• Preparation of documents and reports from concept design through advanced technical design documentation.
• Assist in the review and markup of shop drawing submittals.
• Recommend ways to improve process, quality and coordination efforts.

ABOUT YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

• Qualified candidates must be working toward a Master in Civil Engineering with Structural focus, Master in Structural Engineering or Master of Architectural Engineering (Structural focus) from an ABET accredited program.
• Coursework in building systems engineering required.
• Concrete and steel design experience or course work is required.
• Masonry and wood design experience is a plus.
• Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs (i.e. Revit, RAM) preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
