Duties and responsibilities
- Be knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the restaurant's menu and products
- Welcome guests with a friendly and warm smile as they enter the restaurant.
- Provide guests with a warm greeting and make them feel valued and appreciated.
- Escort guests to their tables, offering assistance with seating arrangements when necessary.
- Manage reservations and maintain an accurate waitlist during peak dining hours.
- Confirm reservations and communicate any special requests or preferences to the serving staff.
- Ensure efficient table turnover while maintaining guest satisfaction.
- Answer any questions about the restaurant's offerings, services, and policies.
- Keep guests informed of any wait times and inform them of their table's readiness.
- Effectively coordinate seating to optimize table availability.
- Address guest concerns and resolve minor issues promptly and professionally.
- Ensure that menus, table settings, and promotional materials are in good condition.
Qualifications
- Prior restaurant experience (preferred)
- Customer service focused, solution oriented, presentable & optimistic approach
- Must enjoy and be able to succeed in a fast-paced work environment
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers and coworkers
- Basic math and written communication skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and restaurant needs
- Food handler's card is required according to our local and or state regulations
Working conditions
Hosts/Hostesses are on their feet most of the time. During busy dining periods, they are under pressure to serve customers quickly and efficiently. They must be able to work well as a team with wait staff to ensure that customers receive prompt service
Physical requirements
- Ability to stand and walk continually throughout an eight-hour shift
- Ability to attend work as scheduled, working various schedules and shifts throughout normal business hours (some holidays and most weekends are required)
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Wage and Benefits
- $17.00-20.00 / Hour, Depending on Experience
