DESCRIPTION:

Canvas, Inc. is seeking an Installation Property Logistics Analyst! In this role, you will serve the Short Intermediate Effectors for Layer Defense (SHIELD) performing independent tasks for the overall planning, coordination, management and growth of property accountability, facility management, and supply support activities necessary for the proper administration.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Advises on and interprets laws, regulations, policies and standards, and their basis or authority for decisions, and the resulting changes required.
  • Develops, analyzes, evaluates, and promotes improvements in accordance with regulations, directives, and procedures pertaining to supply and property accountability.
  • Conducts or participates in studies on matters such as internal property accountability.
  • Manages in excess of 1,500 line items of various types of equipment located on Redstone Arsenal.
  • Knowledgeable on forms for required for Hand Receipts (HR), sub-HR, Lateral Transfers, Change Documents, Shipping Document, and others.
  • Advises management of potential controversies and potential problem areas, and recommends measures designed to reduce or eliminate the problems. Explains related technical considerations to affected employees.
  • Conducts projects and studies on major issues addressing the supply and/or facility aspects of Property accountability.
  • Conducts data collection through site visits to buildings, written requests, and telephonic discussions.
  • Provide logistical building support to specified missions and other designated programs. Analyzes and implements policies, coordinates with representatives, and/or higher headquarters concerning maintenance and overhaul of required facilities.
  • Provides specialized technical and logistical advice and assistance to team.
  • Serves as technical and staff specialist on facility related initiatives. Duties will include support to budgetary data preparation and defense in support of operations.
  • Provides accurate information for the SHIELD automated Defense Property Accountability Systems (DPAS) property book. Provides accurate information for the organization's Automated Scan Tracking System (ASTS), mandated by AMCOM, work with Supply Support Activity (SSA) customer service supply point for requisitions, receipts, turn-ins, Defense Reutilization Marketing Service (DRMS), and accountability of installation equipment.
  • Maintains rapport in negotiating acceptance of installation property accountability that may require new, and innovative approaches form previous practices.
  • Troubleshoots difficulties, differences in opinion, and problems resulting from the impact of new material requirements associated with a research and development working environment.
  • Knowledge and skill in developing, promoting, coordinating, and improving the SHIELD property accountability program, which includes the development and implementation of local policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of intermediate level of installation supply and property accountability programs. Requires knowledge of pertinent regulations, policies, procedures, practices, and precedents, which affect the use of supply and property accountability programs. Effective knowledge of DA, DoD, and Government organizational structure and policies, and ability to relate the structure, functions, missions, and objectives of the organization. Comprehensive knowledge of the concepts, principles, practices, and procedures that apply to property accountability.
  • Maintains a detailed knowledge of Army-mandated programs and systems, associated with area of responsibility, in order to develop integrate, and coordinate on plans and studies which assist in achievement of the program goals.
  • Knowledge of effective group relationships, and ability to deal with a large variety of people in structured and unstructured situations. Requires tact, flexibility, and the ability to define, develop, discuss, and coordinate on difficult problems.
  • Ability to plan, conduct, and document a variety of related studies and reports, including findings, conclusions, and recommendations, and support them as necessary by graphs, charts, tables, and other devices for presenting data.
  • Ability to coordinate, evaluate, edit work prepared by others, and develop into a consistent, whole product.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to operate a desktop personal computer (PC) along with a good working knowledge of a variety of computer software programs in order to issue necessary reports or statistical data that may be required.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance
  • Experience using Defense Property Accountability Systems (DPAS) property book and the organization's Automated Scan Tracking System (ASTS), mandated by AMCOM
  • Must possess the ability to lift, bend, and twist. The work is 50% physical and 50% sedentary; work predominately performed in an office setting with the ability to work in a non-climatized building(s). Normal safety precautions are required.
  • Bachelor's degree in applicable discipline

Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and show proof of citizenship.
