Job Summary:
The Managing Director will be responsible for the overall management of this specialty plastic printing and film insert injection molding factory including overseeing production, finance, engineering, sales and marketing, human resources, purchasing, shipping/receiving and facilities maintenance.
This is a leadership role that requires strong management skills, in-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, strategic planning and execution, the ability to understand engineering concepts, the ability to guide and develop individual contributors and managers, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan, Develop and Implement the overall strategy to meet customer demands and optimize efficiency
- Manage day-to-day plant operations, including production scheduling, inventory management, and quality control
- Profit and Loss responsibility for the overall financial well-being of the division
-Oversight of the Engineering, Purchasing, Facilities, and Human Resources departments
- Lead and motivate the various departments to achieve departmental targets.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to drive process improvements and eliminate waste
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize supply chain management and ensure timely delivery of materials
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track plant performance and identify areas for improvement
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety throughout the plant
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and customers to support business objectives
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and increase customer satisfaction
Education and Experience:
- 5-10 years of P&L experience in General Management or Directorship within a Manufacturing facility
- Proven track record of managing and growing a profitable division or enterprise
- Proven experience in business planning, strategic planning, and plan execution
- Custom manufacturing experience a plus (multiple SKU’s)
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or Finance
- MBA or advanced degree preferred
Skills and Abilities:
- Proven skills in production planning, operations management, and plant management
-Financial management skills with P&L experience
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and process improvement methodologies
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams
- Solid understanding of supply chain management principles and practices
- Proficient in analyzing data, identifying trends, and making data-driven decisions
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and implement effective solutions
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
