Role
Responsible for the directing and administering the operational efforts of a single branch operation. Trains, directs, and supervises branch staff. Assists customers with all types of Retail and Lending transactions as directed by the Bank. Ensures established policies and procedures are followed.
Availability Needed: Monday-Friday 8:15-6:00 and rotated Saturdays 8:45-12:00.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage direct reports to maximize productivity, efficiency, and the potential of the human assets of the company, including: hiring, directing job assignments, monitoring staff performance, coaching, counseling, training, and assuring compliance with organizational mission, values, policies, and work rules. Appraise performance and provide recommendations for staff compensation, promotion, and termination, as appropriate.
- Assists customers with opening and maintenance of all types of Retail accounts as defined by the Bank. Acts as a Consumer and First Mortgage Loan officer as defined by the Bank. Must be able to obtain and maintain current registration through the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry. Troubleshoots and resolves internal and external inquiries and complaints ensuring that customer’s requests and questions are promptly resolved. Ensures customers are informed of Company services and policies. Provides details and explains options to customers regarding their financial needs and services requested.
- Ensures all branch transactions are balanced at the close of each day. Oversees individual accountability for the handling of cash and assists in resolving balancing problems. Oversees daily quality control review of all branch business.
- Assures that staff complies with regulatory requirements, bank policies and procedures.
- Prepare and review month-end management reports which apprise executive management of the status of branch activities.
- Closely monitor industry trends in lending and deposit operations in the branch’s market area to feed research and development activities and assure that the company’s products, services and processes are remaining competitive. Manages and oversees expenses. Pursues cost-saving measures.
- Is responsible for maintaining office building, grounds, equipment and fixtures. Primary Security Officer for the branch. Conducts required security meetings with staff to ensure compliance. Oversees the opening and closing of the building in accordance with established security procedures. tests security equipment quarterly. manages and oversees building expenses. Pursues cost-saving measures whenever appropriate.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Must comply with current applicable laws, regulations and bank policies and procedures. Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
Requirements
- One to three years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience. Previous supervisory or managerial experience preferred.
- A high school degree or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4 year college or university preferred.
- A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required to be an effective subject matter expert in the position. In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature is a normal part of the day-to-day experience. Communications can involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.
