Founded by artists in 1981, CCMoA is the home of Cape Cod Art.
The Museum preserves the work of the Cape’s finest artists and celebrates the distinctive artistic identity of the Cape, the Islands and the region. It is a major hub of the cultural life of the region. The Museum is situated in a beautiful setting surrounded by a Sculpture Garden in Dennis, Massachusetts. CCMoA has seven galleries, an education center, pottery studio, museum shop and a film screening room.
POSITION
Development Manager
CAPE COD MUSEUM OF ART is seeking an experienced Development Manager with strong organizational skills and business acumen that has an appreciation for art, to join our team.
This is a full time position that reports to the President of the Board of Trustees and the Chairman of the Development Committee of the Board of Trustees
GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION
In this position the Development Manager is responsible for the overall fundraising efforts of the Cape Cod Museum of Art. The position spans the spectrum of funding streams that touches all members of the staff and trustees. He or she is responsible for the effective organization, implementation and tracking of all activities that impact fundraising across membership, corporations, government and private grant opportunities
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience in working with both government and private grant applications
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe, PowerPoint, Word and Excel
- Established network of both potential donors and corporate sponsors
- Excellent communication and writing skills
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide active leadership in the identification, solicitation, cultivation and stewardship of major donors and donor prospects, including individuals, corporations and foundations
- Enlist the museum staff and trustees in the development effort including educating and developing them in the tools and skills necessary to be successful as integral parts of the development team
- Be a leader for the museum in business and community events as a representative of the museum
- Provide leadership with respect to development communication and the integration of development strategies and activities into the overall museum mission
- Writes and manages the coordination of complex documents such as grant applications and major gift proposals
- Works closely with marketing and public relations at the museum to coordinate efforts
- Develop and mange budgets with specific goals and objectives that are reviewed monthly with management and quarterly or as needed with the Board of Trustees
- Actively participates in all major activities at the museum including exhibitions, fund raising events and meetings
- Supervises and manages the database needs for development and their ongoing management and evolution when it comes to membership, donations, sponsors and foundations
Requirements:
- Successful record of grant writing resulting in awards
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated success at raising funds from individuals and corporations on Cape Cod
- Strong interests in the Arts
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
Pay: Up to $45,000.00 per year
