Provides administrative and clerical support, electronic data entry and maintenance, and retrieval of data for the Coordination of Care (COC) Department. Responds in a timely way to all incoming telephonic, email and fax messages. Facilitates communication among members of the Department. Supports department personnel with the arrangement of post-acute services, payor requests and the activities of the Department leaders as requested. Processes department payroll.EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING:
Associate degree and medical terminology preferred. Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite programs.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 2 years as a secretary or office coordinator required. Hospital, home health/hospice or medical office practice experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills. Able to communicate effectively and work with people of all social, economic and cultural backgrounds.
Self-motivated, self-directed and proven written, telephonic and digital communication skills.
Assertive and persuasive in interactions with customers, peers, management and core staff served.
Proficiency with various computer programs, to include Microsoft Office, EPIC, Tableau, Midas, ProviderLink, ValleyLink, eHIM and SMS.
Skills necessary to build credible and effective relationships with physicians, internal and external customers
Flexible, open minded and adaptable to change. Models positive change.
Ability to demonstrate respect and participate in team building
Ability to prioritize and process multiple tasks, responsibilities and work projects, demonstrating strong organizational and time management skills.
Demonstrated ability to analyze related information, plan effective actions and follow through reliably to meet expectations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to communicate verbally. Some light carrying and lifting may be required. Occasional walking may be required to access all areas of the Medical Center. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, family members, team members and physicians. Must have intact sense of hearing and sight, finger dexterity, critical thinking skills and ability to concentrate. Near visual acuity to proofread hand or typewritten materials. Manual ability to use telephone and computer keyboard. Must be able to respond quickly to changes in assignments. Position involves siting for extended periods of time, performing data entry into the computer.
