Salary: This paraprofessional position follows the Collective Bargaining Agreement Salary Schedule (HS Diploma: $24,182 or High School plus 48 college credits: $26,205)
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Capital Area Intermediate Unit is seeking a Educational Paraprofessional (EPP) to provide assistance to the teaching staff in community early learning settings and CAIU Preschool Early Intervention classrooms by working to assist children who experience a variety of developmental disabilities.
The successful candidate will be able to work as a member of an educational team, work independently at the direction of the CAIU teacher, and attend meetings as required. The EPP will assist the children as they complete educational goals, will help with record keeping, and maintain collaborative relationships with community staff and families. It is necessary to help with busing, toileting, dressing and snack activities and the preparation, cleanup and arrangement of classroom materials. Experience with young children, young children with disabilities, and/or young children with autism spectrum disorders preferred.
