Program Coordinator - Youth Mentoring

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie, Niagara and the Southern Tier (BBBSENST) is in search of a Program Coordinator to advance the organization’s mission in the Southern Tier of Western New York. Our mission is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.

The Program Coordinator, based in the BBBSENST Olean office, is critical to achieving the organization’s mission within the Southern Tier. The Program Coordinator is responsible for building partnerships; implementing recruitment efforts; and making and supporting mentoring relationships.

Responsibilities of this position include: building and maintaining relationships with other service providers and partners through regular communication and meetings; creating new mentoring relationships in the Site Based, Group Mentoring and Community Based mentoring program; providing on-going, quality support to mentors, children and parent/guardians on a caseload to ensure safe and healthy relationships in the Site Based, Group Mentoring and Community Based mentoring program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience;
• Ability to work independently
• Comfortable with public speaking
• Experience working with children and families;
• Commitment to advancing the lives of children and young adults;
• Comfortable interacting with people from diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds;
• Ability to multi-task, work in a collaborative environment
• Strong communication and relationship building skills
• Attention to detail, strong written communication, ability to comply with procedural and reporting guidelines
• Valid Driver’s License and Personal Transportation.

Positions are full-time Monday through Friday, with both daytime and evening hours.

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
