Driver

Responsibilities

• Transports patients, employees, visitors, and property to appropriated locations in a safe and organized manner. Assists passengers on and off the vehicle as required to ensure safe entering and exiting of the vehicle and uses supplied step-stool as required. Assures that all passengers use a seatbelt.
• Completes a vehicle inspection at the beginning of each shift to assure the vehicle in in good working order and all necessary equipment is present and working. Maintains a safe, clean, and properly operating vehicle. Reports all mechanical problems to the supervisor on a timely basis.
• Performs courier transports and assists with fleet service delivery and pick-up as required.
• Performs manual and clerical tasks in other areas within the department.
• Performs a variety of related activities including attending all mandatory in-service training.
• Follows EMS Department uniform policy. Maintains a neat, professional, and well-groomed appearance at all times.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• One year driving experience.
• Clean DMV record with no more than two violations in past five years.

• Frequent physical demands include: Sitting , Talk or Hear
• Occasional physical demands include: Standing , Walking , Climbing (e.g., stairs or ladders) , Carry objects , Push/Pull , Twisting , Bending , Reaching forward , Reaching overhead , Squat/kneel/crawl , Wrist position deviation , Pinching/fine motor activities , Keyboard use/repetitive motion
• Continuous physical demands include:
• Lifting Floor to Waist 35 lbs. Lifting Waist Level and Above 35 lbs.
