Capital One is hiring Business Solutions Architects to join our incredible team of talented product and technologists in the People Technology Department and to work closely with our Corporate Technology, application development teams, Cloud engineering, and Enterprise Architecture groups. The People Technology department provides business solutions and manages technologies for Capital One’s internal workforce.

As a Capital One Architecture Leader, you will be responsible for solution architecture design, driving innovation, attracting and mentoring top architecture talent, elevating best enterprise architecture practices, and inspiring your teammates to deliver high quality integrated software solutions.
In this role, you will partner with Capital One Cloud Engineering, application development teams, and Enterprise Architecture to provide architecture design and architecture governance leadership to develop target state business architectures and technical solution architectures for the Capital One Corporate Technology domain, and assist in leading Corporate digital strategic business initiatives. You will have the opportunity to work in a variety of Corporate business domain areas affecting many facets of Capital One’s workplace management, procurement management, corporate strategy, legal services management and enterprise safety & security systems management as you continue to grow your knowledge and experience.
You'll be using both cutting-edge open source frameworks and best of class integrated third party products, all in on the cloud. You'll bring solid experience in emerging and traditional technologies such as Spark, Scala, Java, React.js, Node.js, REST, JSON, HTML / HTML5, CSS / SCSS, Express, Chef, Docker, Postgres, Kubernetes, Github, Salesforce, Workday, and other Saas/PaaS products. You will be fully utilizing AWS with services such as S3, EC2, RDS, Lambda, Route53, CloudFront, API Gateway, and much more.

Responsibilities:
Work across multiple lines of business within People Tech, partnering with other architects. Bring in a larger context to several software teams across People Tech and guide their architecture evolution. Influence Capital One Enterprise architecture and infrastructure, implementing their initiatives as well as bringing our requirements to them. We also work to shape the vision and strategy for Capital One’s tech journey.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
At least 4 years experience in systems architecture or software architecture
At least 4 years of experience with business and technology capability analysis
At least 2 years experience working in a public cloud environment (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
At least 1 year of software development experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree
2 years experience with ATAM, DDD, ADR, or user journey maps
2 years experience with developing requirements and evaluating tools
2 years of experience with developing technical strategic roadmaps
1 years of experience with SaaS solutions (ServiceNow, PagerDuty)
