Location: Remote (For Non-Local) or Hybrid (Local to NYC area)
Position Summary:
The UX/UI Designer is a valued contributor on the UX/UI Design team. They will craft designs for one or more cross-functional product teams, while collaborating with fellow designers to ensure consistency across other products. They stay up-to-date with best practices within the UI/UX realm, offer valuable and thoughtful solutions to user pain points, and continuously add value to the design team, their product team, and the organization. They contribute to all phases of the design process including research and prototyping, design execution, and documentation.
Position Responsibilities:
- Serve as a UX/UI designer for one or more product teams, where you will learn in detail about complex product areas
- Maintain close collaboration with other designers on the team and remain diligent in creating consistent experiences across different products
- Work with product managers, developers, and other cross functional teammates to understand and define product requirements and functional limitations, define user and feature goals, and explore new user experiences
- Work in relation to 2-week scrum cycles to quickly deliver iterative UX/UI improvements and explore new features that meet user and business requirements
- Advocate for your users in order to reduce friction and challenges in their workflows
- Delight users with a modern SaaS product that is efficient, learnable, and thoughtfully interconnected
- Contribute to all phases of the in-flight design process from research and prototyping to design execution and documentation; share this process with the design team to facilitate further learning and consistency across products
- Facilitate and manage user testing and persona development, workflow mapping, and other research artifacts as applicable
- Collaborate with other designers, the product team PMs, and developers to establish best practices that produce best in class interfaces and experiences for our users:
- Make sure developers understand how to execute the designs and collaborate to find alternative solutions within the design system when challenges arise
- QA and approve developer UI work to assure correct implementation
- Collaborate with the design team to contribute to the in-house Design System component library
- Help identify design system rules that are useful in creating consistent application experiences
- Follow proficient file organization and naming conventions outlined by leadership
- Responsible for adherence to the Capital Rx Code of Conduct including reporting of noncompliance.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience
- 3 years of experience in a UI/UX or Product Designer role
- Experience with Enterprise software, SaaS, or other complex/technical design work preferred
- Strong knowledge of Figma, XD, Sketch or other UX/UI design tools is willing to work exclusively in Figma, in this role
- Basic user research experience: user interviews, ideation, usability testing (or a willingness to learn and develop these skills)
- A basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and Front-End frameworks
- Experience driving design solutions from concept to delivery
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Pharmacy Benefits, Medical Claims, or Health Insurance companies is a plus; if not, the ability to dive deep on a highly regulated and structured product area and learn the complexities of various areas of healthcare
- Strong communication, collaboration, and conflict resolution skills
- Intellectual and professional curiosity
- Comfort and experience in a fast-paced, growing environment
- A strong attention to detail, best practices, and project management skills
- Ability to manage your time and prioritize work across different product teams and the design team
- A desire to share work throughout your process with the design team, giving and receiving thoughtful feedback regularly, and contributing to team decision-making and collaboration
